On October 10th, the Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2019 (CR Expo), which is hosted by China Disabled Persons’ Federation, organized by China Assistive Devices and Technology Centre for Persons with Disabilities, Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation, and co-organized by Guangzhou Poly Jinhan Exhibition Co., Ltd. (Poly Exhibition), was grandly opened at China National Convention Center in Beijing.
Covering an area of 25,000 m2, the Expo attracts more than 300 corporate brands from 16 countries and regions to exhibit the most cutting-edge products, technologies and solutions in the fields of rehabilitation and assistive devices.
Leading Brands Gathered, Shining with Innovative Technologies
As an international stage for assistive devices, the Expo further highlights the power of scientific and technological innovation, filling various professional exhibition zones with an eyeful of new products and technologies.
Rehabilitation Zone
More new intelligent technologies are incorporated to inject new vitality into traditional rehabilitation and treatment. RA intelligent training systems for precise operation of upper extremities produced by Qianjing Medical can interconnect multiple devices, realize information interaction and intelligent management, and thereby achieve “accurate rehabilitation”. Huistec perfectly integrates holographic imaging and glasses-free 3D technology. It presented picture books and board games three-dimensionally to promote multi-sensory rehabilitation training of children. External skeleton rehabilitation robots of high-tech enterprises such as RoboCT, Free Bionics and Ai-Robotics can provide patients with extremity function disturbance active and passive rehabilitation training, which is safer and more reliable, and has received extensive attention at the scene.
Barrier-free Zone
New products in fields such as barrier-free travel, information communication, and environment facilities were comprehensively displayed. Wisking, Karma, Kaiyang, Purmobil, Sunrise Medical, Dongfang, Kawamura, Matsunaga, Vermeiren, Test, Shunkangda, MBL and other leading manufacturers headed the super list of exhibitors, showcasing lightweight, easy-folding, and highly adaptable wheelchairs. Schaeffler, Chery, SAIC and BAIC launched a variety of barrier-free vehicles, which can effectively solve the travel problems of people with mobility difficulty. Assistive devices featured “human-computer interaction” displayed by Honeycomb has realized barrier-free connection between the disabled and the outside world. Poly took elderly care as the entrance to implement barrier-free standards from the aspects of facility equipping and design for the elderly.
Prosthesis and Orthotics Zone
Products in this zone are characterized by intelligence, lightness and flexibility, which capture the highlands of the industry. Ottobock celebrated its 100th birthday at this Expo and displayed a series of assistive devices. Össur, Endelai, Brain Co, and Keshen launched various intelligent bionic hands to meet the daily needs of patients by defining multiple hand movements. A new product developed by Reboocon -- the lightest power knee “Interleg” -- also made its debut, which attracted everyone’s attention on site.
Vision & Audition Zone
Black technologies such as AR, VR, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing are leading the trend. Tobii showcased a series of computerized accessories of assistive devices such as the smallest eye controlling device, which allows the physically disabled to break through limitations to participate in learning, work and entertainment through computers and mobile phones. NextVPU, KR-VISION, Rejointech, Orcam, Allgsight, etc. launched various types of smart glasses. Sonova, Starkey, NewSound, Austar, Nurotron and other well-known brands also showed the latest hearing aids, cochlear implants, audition detectors and other products which can help the hearing-impaired hear the beauty of life.
To enhance the interactive experience of visitors, the Expo, together with the exhibitors, set up a trial and barrier-free experience zone to enhance awareness of barrier-free assistive devices through on-site explanations, which attracted many visitors.
Experts Gathered to Explore Industry Forefront at Splendid Concurrent Events
On the first day of the Expo, a number of conferences were unveiled, which focused on hot topics such as “Development and Application of Teaching Aids and Promotion of Teaching Quality in Special Schools”, “Sitting Posture Correcting and Wheelchair Equipping”, “Assistive Device Equipping for Positioning of Children with Cerebral Palsy” and “Community-based Rehabilitation for People with Mental Disorders”.
Experts and practitioners from special schools, rehabilitation institutions, assistive device equipping services and other fields conducted in-depth discussions through on-site lectures, theme sharing, exchange and study, etc. The site was fully occupied and packed with enthusiastic interaction.
In the following two days, forums and interactive experiences covering multi-dimensional contents will also be held, such as international cooperation, policy exchange, new product & technology release, and procurement docking. The diversified and exciting highlights are expected to attract over 50,000 professional visitors.
