Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2016 and China International Rehabilitation Expo successfully concluded

Co-hosted by China Disabled Persons' Federation and China National Committee on Ageing, and co-organized by China Assistive Devices and Technology Centre for Persons with Disabilities and other units, Care & Rehabilitation Expo China and China International Rehabilitation Expo 2016 was successfully held at China International Exhibition Center in Beijing during October 17th-19th, 2016. Jia Yong, Deputy Executive Director of China Disabled Persons’ Federation, leaders from relevant ministries and commissions under the State Council, and leaders from relevant government departments, visited the exhibition.

Over 300 enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions such as Germany and Japan attend the 3-day Expo as exhibitors, including world-famous manufacturers and operators of wheelchairs, hearing aids, visual aids, rehabilitation equipment and prosthesis, as well as relevant service institutions. During the Expo, the latest assistive device technologies, achievements and products from both home and abroad were showcased, providing a platform for disabled practitioners, professionals and experts, disabled persons, elderly persons and their relatives, and relevant people to see, study and exchange ideas on the assistive devices in China and from other countries. Also, many Chinese and foreign professional rehabilitation therapists also came to provide free counseling for visitors at the venue.

In addition to exhibition of good technologies and products, three technical forums on fitting of assistive devices to children with physical disabilities, rehabilitation of and assistance for children with autism, and international low vision, plus the “New Start, New Life” Charity Show, were also organized concurrently in the Expo. During these activities, enterprises such as Sunkiss and Ottobock made their donations, and some disabled persons gave their art performances to demonstrate their strength and independence in life.

According to statistics, the Expo attracted nearly 80,000 visitors to the venue and many media agencies to give their follow-up reports.
